Hayward Touring
Hayward Touring exhibitions tour to galleries, museums and other publicly funded venues throughout Britain. Each year exhibitions of contemporary and modern art are seen by approximately half a million people in 100 towns and cities. Exhibitions range in scale from the British Art Show, a multi-site survey of recent art presented at five-year intervals in different cities across the country, to small long-tour shows of prints and photographs touring to smaller galleries, libraries and arts centres. The Hayward also tours exhibitions from the Arts Council Collection, the largest loan collection of post-war British art.
Hayward Touring is funded by Arts Council England , and our purpose is to enable as wide a public as possible to experience and enjoy contemporary art of high quality throughout the country. Acting as a laboratory of ideas and nurturing new curatorial approaches, Hayward Touring’s exhibitions feature a thought-provoking mix of subjects and artists intended to complement and support other aspects of galleries’programmes. Recent major shows include You’ll Never Know: Drawing and Random Interference, A Secret Service: Art, Compulsion, Concealment and Cult Fiction: Art and Comics.
