Gustav Mahler Symphony No.9
Daniele Gatticonductor
Mahler put his whole life and philosophy into his music, creating enormous and extraordinary symphonic canvases that attempt to encompass the whole of human experience. He composed most of the Ninth, his last completed symphony, in 1909, and although some of the music is undoubtedly valedictory, its beautiful adagio finale transfigures earlier material into a passionate and life-affirming orchestral hymn.
